What makes a good tug-o-war robot?
This week, we explored forces: push and pull and used this to build a tug-o-war robot for a competition! Using the engineering design process, we assessed how the wheel size and type, robot shape and weight distribution affect pull effectiveness. We had a few top-heavy robots topple over, we laughed, re-engineered and re-tested.
We learned to use the LEGO Wedo software to write an algorithm to make our robots reverse at maximum speed after a countdown. We even got to add effects like sounds and flashing lights.
