Robotics Club

    • Free taster

Your child can try the first class free by enrolling for a taster session where available.

    • Weekly sessions

Classes are held once a week in a venue close to or at a local the school.

    • What will we do?

Using the amazing LEGO Mindstorms kit, children will learn to build increasingly complex robots and programs. We typically use the Home edition kit so that children who own their own kits can easily replicate their builds at home. Where classes are full, we may be able to accommodate children who have their own kit and laptop. Please speak to us if this is relevant to you.

For kids in P3-P7, the LEGO WeDo kit from LEGO Education is used.

    • What to bring along?

We provide robot kits and laptops. Bringing a notebook would be a great idea.

  • Details

    • Beginner LEGO Mindstorms

Participants will learn to build a simple robot as well as different non-geared attachments with focus on maximising sensor sensitivity, and innovation. They learn basic elements of programming and use these to get their robots doing fantastic tasks! They also learn the science behind each sensor as well as different modes of operation. We connect our activities to everyday lives.

    • Intermediate LEGO Mindstorms

Participants learn to build a more complex robot suitable for the First Lego League, explore gearing and use this to build various attachments for their robot. They solve more complex tasks requiring several sensors, parallel programming, and other more advanced concepts as well as precision. We connect each lesson to everyday robots, both conceptual and real.

    • Advanced LEGO Mindstorms

The focus is on completing various missions involving robot design and programming. Math functions may be introduced depending on the age of participants.

    • LEGO WeDo

Aimed at children in P3-P5, participants build and program a new robot in each session using the LEGO WeDo kit. Initial builds and programs are largely instructional, with later activities requiring creativity and analysis through teamwork.

    • Pricing

Where attendees will bring own LEGO Mindstorms or WeDo kit and laptop, we offer a 20% discount.
