Yesterday, we were knights sneaking into a castle to rescue the minion 🙂 Using the engineering process of imagining, planning, programming, testing, debugging, and making changes, everyone got their robot into the castle and to the minion. With only 45 minutes on our hands, everyone did a fabulous job! Tasks like this often take hours to perfect especially for 8-10 year olds!
We also got to play about with an ultrasonic sensor for the first time! It was interesting to compare our sensor to dolphins, bats, and beluga whales – echo location.
During this twist to the traditional wall follower activity, we had to imagine what our robot would be able to “see” while in motion in order to debug effectively.
