At Wacky Bots, we usually explore data wires in the intermediate class. However, at the Beginners’ Club in Laurencekirk we spent a few minutes getting a taste of this fun and powerful piece of code.
Data wires allow you to control one part of your program using information from another part, usually based on sensor readings. For example, the volume could vary directly or inversely with proximity to an infrared or ultrasonic sensor, speed could be directly proportional to ambient light intensity, an infrared beacon’s readings could be used to guide a robot through an obstacle course. Fun stuff.
