In-School or Home school STEM Support

  • Speak to us about hands-on activities to support your STEM curriculum this term.  We have activities lasting from one to three hours that greatly enrich learning through science, Scratch programming and robotics activities for KS1 and KS2.  Ignite a passion for STEM in your pupils.

    Some robotics activities:

    • For P1-P3  Learn to code using the Kibo robot (no computers used).  Children will learn what a robot is, code sequencing, then get their robot to move, flash lights, makes sounds, and respond to its environment using a sound sensor.
    • For P3-P7  Learn to code using the LEGO Wedo robot and software.  Children will build a simple robot, learn what a robot is, the basics of coding such as sequencing, then get their robot to make sounds, move, and respond to its environment using a motion sensor.
    • For P4-S2  Learn to code using the LEGO Mindstorms robot and software.  Children will build a simple robot, learn what a robot is, the basics of coding such as sequencing and loops, then get their robot to display images, make sounds, move, and respond to its environment using a touch, light, infrared, or ultrasonic sensor.

All workshops include an experience with an advanced robot capable of playing games with the children.  Workshops may be adapted to suit a class theme where possible.
